Established in 1965 as Demyansk Music School, it was later reorganised as an extracurricular education centre and renamed Demyansk Art School.
It is now a municipal budgetary institution offering general extracurricular programmes for children.
Demyansk Art School works to promote growth and development in the interests of individuals, family, society and the state, to create favourable conditions for diverse forms of self-improvement.
The school offers extracurricular programmes in various arts.
