Tourist Information Centers

Since 2001, Krasnaya Izba, Novgorod’s tourist information centre, has welcomed residents and guests of the city on a daily basis, telling them about unique things to do in the birthplace of Russia.

Here you will find all you need to know about:

• Group and individual excursions, city tours and thematic routes
• Hotels and guest houses
• Cafes and restaurants
• Workshops for children and adults
• Museums and exhibitions
• Events and holidays

You can also rent an audio guide; get free tourist information about the city; purchase tasty Novgorod souvenirs; and plan your own itinerary to see one of the most ancient cities of Rus.

In 2018, the Krasnaya Izba tourist information centre again won the TripAdvisor certificate of excellence, which recognises select companies that consistently show commitment to top hospitality standards.

That same year, Krasnaya Izba launched its online shop, Excursions and Souvenirs from Novgorod, to create a user-friendly site for the convenience of residents and guests of the city.

The Centre provides residents and guests of the area with information on things to do in the Novgorod Region. It tells tourists where to find sights, historical and architectural landmarks, and various tourist facilities.

Here you can:

• Get free promotional and informational materials (leaflets, maps and guidebooks) about the region, its routes, transport, local sights and attractions
• Ask questions about your trip
• Print tickets and charge your phone
• Make a stop, take a break and have a coffee
• Buy souvenirs and gifts for yourself and your family and friends

There are plans to open a Tourist information booth at the Centralised Library System Municipal Institution of Culture.
