Every Sunday, we invite you on a tour of two cities with an incredible history. Pskov is one of the oldest cities in Russia, first mentioned in chronicles in 903. Like other ancient Russian cities, Pskov stands on the banks of a river. The city’s main tourist attraction is its Kremlin.
The history of Pechory, a town in the Pskov Region some 50 kilometres west of Pskov, is like a four-century tale of adventures. The most famous Russian monastery, the Holy Dormition Pskovo-Pechersky Monastery, is located there.
