Tourists can rack up points for travelling in the cities of the Northwest which can be exchanged for valuable gifts from tourist information centres during their next trips.
The launch of the Northwest www.RussiaTravel.club was timed to coincide with the official opening of the tourist season in St Petersburg on 1 May. Now tourists in cities of the Northwest earn points that can be exchanged for valuable gifts from tourist information centres during their next trips.
At the first stage, points are earned by visiting tourist information centres in the 11 regions of the Silver Necklace of Russia, followed by museums which will join the programme in summer 2021.
Following the summer-autumn period, the grand prizes of free hotel stays will be awarded to the tourists who visited the most regions in the Northwest.
To register with the Northwest RussiaTravel.club, just use your mobile phone to go to the website and choose one of the messengers. The club members will be regularly updated on Silver Necklace regions and can also consult with tourist information centre specialists when planning their trip to participating regions – regions of Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Leningrad, Murmansk, Novgorod, Pskov and Kaliningrad, republics of Karelia and Komi, as well the Nenets Autonomous Area and the city of St Petersburg.
The Silver Necklace of Russia is an interregional project comprising a set of routes passing through historic cities, regional capitals and big cities in the Northwest of Russia which are celebrated for their unique, well-preserved historic and cultural heritage, as well as nature attractions, including some on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The Silver Necklace of Russia consists of 11 regions of the Northwestern Federal District – city of St Petersburg, regions of Leningrad, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Pskov and Novgorod, republics of Karelia and Komi, and the Nenets Autonomous Area.
