Starting from 2 July, the Museum and Culture Centre in Korostyn Village of the Shimsky District will begin open-air tours. Everyone can sign up for the walking tour, Around the Palace in 40 Minutes.
Tour participants will learn about the history of Korostyn, the events of 1471, the gardens with its pond covered with lilies of the valley, Lake Ilmen, the Ilmen Clint, the connections of Michael Barclay de Tolly and Count Alexei Arakcheyev to the place, and architectural details of the En Route Palace built for Emperor Alexander I.
Tours are available by appointment, in small groups (from 1 to 5) in compliance with social distancing guidelines.
