Obelisk to the servicemen of the 448th Artillery Regiment who fought valiantly near Novgorod, performing their military duty honourably in all battles.
After the liberation of Novgorod, the regiment was awarded the title of 448th Novgorod Artillery Regiment.
The monument is a huge boulder standing on an artificial hill. The inscription on the plaque reads: “To the soldiers of the 448th Novgorod Artillery Regiment who died fighting for the socialist homeland in 1941-1944.” The emblem of artillery forces is mounted above it. The opening ceremony was held during the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Great Victory.
