Tekunok Spring, Chapel and Baptistery of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God

The spring is located next to a creek connecting Lake Uzhin and Lake Golova, on the left side of the road from Valdai before the village of Uzhin. The spring is marked with a road sign. In 2006, at the initiative of the national park workers and with the support of many organisations, the area around the spring was landscaped and a chapel and a baptistery built. The spring was consecrated the same year. A service is held by the spring on the Feast of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God.

The water in the spring is believed to have healing powers and is rich in minerals. People think that Tekunok water helps cure eye diseases.
