The community is located 20 km to the northeast of Malaya Vishera, 300 m to the west of Lake Spasskoye, on the edge of the Spasskiye Mkhi wetland. Dense forests stretch for kilometres to the north and the west of the settlement, with almost impassable bogs in the south and the east. After the Revolution, churches in the Spas-Okuysky Pogost remained active until 1938.
