The nature reserve is a popular destination because it offers beautiful nature, mysterious lakes, sandy beaches, great fishing, and relaxation. The number of visitors who come here grows every year. However, people rarely realise what a unique area they are visiting, what karst is and why the lakes are disappearing. Most lakes are linked into a single network. The sanctuary covers 19,290 ha in total. This is a place of extraordinary beauty, the only one of its kind in northwestern Russia.
