Description

Church of the Saviour is located on Nereditsa Hill near Novgorod. It was built in the late 12th century by order of Prince Yaroslav Vladimirovich in memory of his deceased sons. The temple is considered to be one of the architectural symbols of Russia. The fresco paintings brought it worldwide fame. After the WWII the monument rose from the ruins, and part of the unique paintings was recovered and returned to the walls. Nowadays, people come to Nereditsa to feel the genuine spirit of Holy Russia.
