There are many stories connected to the small church in the southern part of the Kremlin. Until the end of the 17th century, this place had a majestic Cathedral dedicated to the holy martyrs, Boris and Gleb. The church was almost as big as the Cathedral of St. Sophia. According to the legend it was built by a wealthy merchant Sotko Sytinich (prototype of the fabulous Sadko). But over time, the Temple became dilapidated, dismantled, and its side-chapel (that had a name of martyr Andrew Stratelates) became a Church. Inside you can observe the preserved fresco paintings of the 16th century with fragments of the monumental «Ascension».
