Why do European bells sing, but the Russian ones speak? What is the origin of the raspberry ringing? What’s in common between «yamskaya harmonica» and a carillon? How did Russian road sound a century and a half ago? Is Novgorod Veche Bell alive? — All these things you can learn in the Museum of bells. The staff show ringing techniques and give visitors an opportunity to practice the art of bell ringing themselves. The Museum is housed in an architectural monument of the 18th century — the Palace Church of the Martyr St. Catherine, designed by N. A. Lvov for the Empress Catherine II.
