Novgorod land occupies a special place in the literary biography of the writer. For four years, Bianki lived on Lake Borovno, in the Okulovsky district. It is here that his famous "Country of Divas" is located.
The source of inspiration for the writer was one of the most picturesque corners of our region - Lake Borovno. Bianchi settled on the cape of a beautiful lake, next to the school. There he founded his forest "base".
Years of stay at Borovno brought the writer closer to the young teacher of the Turbine School, Pavel Sergeevich Ivanov. They went hunting together. But more for observing nature than prey.
The Borovnov period in Bianchi's life was varied and fruitful. The writer was interested in literally everything: local turns of speech, cases from life. In those years, following Bianchi, his Leningrad friends came to the lake - writers, biologists, artists, forming a kind of creative community. In the house where Vitaly Valentinovich settled, they read the manuscripts of his books, examined sketches and sketches, and came up with new plots.
The memory of Vitaly Bianchi is carefully preserved in the Novgorod region. For its inhabitants, it is very important and expensive that many of Bianchi's works were written in the Novgorod region. A memorial sign with the words of Bianchi about the Land of Divs is installed on Lake Borovno. Here, since 1984, annual Biankovskie readings have been held, which gather admirers of his talent, ecologists, local historians, and students from many regions of the Novgorod region.
