Tsvetnye Peski

Tsvetnye Peski, i.e. Colour Sands, is a remarkable place in the Kholmsky District. It is located on the Bolshaya Tudyor’s River right bank, about a hundred metres from the Medovsky Waterfall, where you can see swathes of colourful sands that form a true natural wonder.

A breathtaking landscape opens just a few metres upstream: a canyon with high-rising flanks like painted walls with pockets of coloured sand.

The low-lying yellowish hills with pink dots are minerals containing iron, copper, manganese and other elements present in the local sands.
