Description It will take you several days to cover the 59 km hiking trail, discovering the marvels of the Valdai National Park and its surroundings along the way. This includes natural and cultural sites, historic and cultural landmarks, and the boundless pristine nature of the Valdai land that will leave you with beautiful memories to last a lifetime. The trail’s central section passes through Valdai National Park with its mysterious, picturesque and unforgettable Lake Russkoye. There are information stands along the way offering insights into the local environment, as well as directions.
The jewel of the tour is a 25-metre-high observation platform located roughly at the halfway point of the trail on Ryzhokha Hill, which offers a panoramic view of the Valdai forests and Lake Velyo.
This itinerary includes five overnight stops at equipped campsites, as well as four sites for daytime stopovers. The trail includes bridges, stairs and walkways in difficult areas, as well as information stands and navigation signs.
Hikers are expected to cover 12 km per day.
