The museum was established to preserve the memory of events that took place in Lychkovo during Great Patriotic War and commemorate the children of Leningrad killed in the train bombing at the Lychkovo railway station on 18 July 1941.
The centre has three halls.
- The remembrance hall to commemorate the children of Leningrad, which features information on the Lychkovo tragedy, recollections and stories of the survivors, the history of the Monument to Children Killed in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, books and photos.
- The war history hall features exhibits on Lychkovo’s war history as well as information stands and glass displays that showcase items from the Great Patriotic War period and scale models of local battles.
- The memory hall represents pages from the lives of Lychkovo residents who fought in the Great Patriotic War and provides materials about heroes who fell while defending our motherland as well as information about war and labour veterans.
